Naughtiest Beagle

Submitted by: Drew

I first want to tell you I believe I have the cutest Beagle in Ontario. She is tiny with big brown eyes and a sad puppy dog face that could melt your heart. I think this is where it all began……

Kaiya has the worst manners of any dog I have ever met. She jumps on people and dogs, barks/ howls at any movement and has the amazing ability to turn her big hound ears off when she feels like it. On top of her being rude to her new friends she loves to ruin everything in her path. Here is a list of things needed to be replaced in the last 3 years because of my lovely dog:
• Socks, underwear, pants, sweaters
• Pillows
• Remotes
• Video games and controllers
• Plants
• Lunch boxes
• Pens, pencils, school supplies
• Stuffed animals
• Electric cords!
• Bottoms of couches/ beds

Our backyard has holes every where. Kaiya has also learned that digging along the fence line means she can escape and cause havoc in the neighbour’s backyard as well. Kaiya’s bad manors have caused us to have to look outside to see if the neighbour’s dogs are outside before she goes out to avoid a non stoppable howling frenzy! Kaiya also doesn’t listen when she is called and after a few times of running away at our family cottage she has to now be tied up and miss out on all the fun the obedient dogs have.

Kaiya is now 3 years old and I thought all this puppy like behavior would calm down a little as she “matured”- think again. In the last few months Kaiya has taught herself to sneak to the kitchen open the fridge and help herself to a midnight snack. She has also discovered she can jump high enough to get onto the counter and eat any goodies we may have left on there.

You may be thinking why she gets away with all this naughty behavior. The fact is she doesn’t, we have tried correcting her bad manors but she just goes right back to it the next day. I don’t just think, I KNOW, Kaiya tops the list of Canada’s naughtiest dogs.
